Fledge - Polymer photogravure print - Edition 2021
The props in this photograph were volunteers. I found the nest in a coffee can in my mother’s garage and I bought the wedding veil on a goodwill shopping trip with my friend Katharine Jacobs. This photograph was born at a time when my youngest daughter Emogene was moving out of our house for college. I could not help wondering what my purpose would be as we faced an empty nest. This hand-pulled polymer photogravure print is made with Charbonnel bone black and warm sepia inks on Rives BFK paper. I decided on a chine collé with Awagami Kitakata. and an edition of 10 numbered prints and 2 A/P prints. Hand made by Ray Bidegain chine collé - Gampi Kitaka 6x 8 on an 11x14 sheet. Edition of 10 numbered prints Signed numbered and dated by the artist on the lower front.
