Devon - Through Time, a Series - Polymer photogravure print - Edition 2021
Time plays a simple role in photography, shutter speeds, film development times, and more. A photograph records a moment in time, often a fraction of a second in time, or in some cases long exposures record a blurry bit of life. In my work, I strive to make pictures that challenge time, wanting to trigger our imaginations. Using props, wardrobe, and process I want my pictures to transport the viewer to a past that lives only in their imaginations. This portrait of Devon is part of a new series I am working on that will take us through time. This hand-pulled polymer photogravure print is made with Gamblin Portland Stiff Black and sepia inks, on Rives BFK paper. I decided on an edition of 12 numbered prints and 2 A/P prints. Hand-pulled print by Ray Bidegain Limited edition of 12 5.25 x 6.5 on an 11x15 sheet. Signed numbered and dated by the artist on the lower front.
