It utilizes two 10-inch square cuts (one for background + one for feature fabric) as the starting point for the blocks.  You can use two fabrics for a consistent modern look or tap into your stash of yardage and/or fat quarters for a scrappy look. But my favorite is the "layer cake" 10" precut pack to showcase a specific line!
