
Beginning Quilt Making Class with Marnet
Instructor: Marnet Hazard Skill level: This is not a Learn-to-Sew or how to use your sewing machine class. It is assumed you have a working knowledge of your sewing machine, i.e. how to thread the machine and wind the bobbin. Number of Sessions: This class is five sessions. Valuable information and new techniques will be discussed in each session. Learn the skills needed to create a 4 or 6 Block Sampler Quilt top – from start to finish - including rotary cutting, piecing techniques, piecing the blocks, adding sashing and borders, and creating and basting your quilt “sandwich” in preparation for quilting. Marnet will demonstrate basic machine quilting techniques, using a walking foot to quilt straight or wavy lines. In the final class you will learn to bind your quilt.
