Phalaenopsis violacea var. indigo A Note on 'Indigos'- This color form is not the same as coerulea, which is the natural light blue-lavender coloring found in this species. The color form known as 'indigo' began at Orchidview with HP Norton's hybridizing for superb magenta colored blooms. This grex and others we have offered represent line breeding using selfings and sibling crosses to achieve new generations of seedlings that will have high percentages of indigo blue flowers. Each generation we hybridize for will have higher chances of these gorgeous dark blue flowers, though the exact shade of indigo can vary by plant and based on culture. Fragrant with a spicy, sweet scent. Plants are beautiful with lush foliage. These should be grown in intermediate to warm conditions year round and low light (1200-1500 foot candles) for best results. Plants are compact growing with lush foliage and prefer warm temperatures along with medium light levels. Fragrance is a blend of sweet and spicy. B
