Cx-Black II - Razor of the Month

One wears black: Polished stainless steel with a damascus cap finished in traditional Diamond-Like Carbon (DLC). Unyielding. Understated. A mirror of discipline and depth. This piece, features a Damascus stainless steel cap(forged grades 304 and 316) coated in DLC. DLC stands for "Diamond-like Carbon", this umbrella of coatings share similar properties to diamonds including their hardness, slickness and durability. We coat the cap and then hand finish the surface again to reveal the polished Stainless steel contrasted against the DLC valleys. Technically the term for this Damascus metal is "pattern-weld" as the true secret to the original "Damascus steel" was lost to time in the 1800's. Although modern metals are far superior to the early Damascus steel, this steel was ahead of its time. No one has been able to reproduce the original Damascus steel process but research tells us that carbon nanotubes are found in the original steel...likely from the addition of carbon during the forging
