Deck Beam Mortise Setup Jig

Please note that a mortise jig is included in our Kayak Building Kit, so you don't need to purchase one if you're purchasing a kit. This is a six inch length of hardwood one inch thick and exactly the height of your gunwale with two holes precision cut into the top. You can use these holes to make a simple drill jig or setup a plunge router jig to cut both straight and 25 degree deck beam mortises. This makes a simple, but surprisingly tricky setup task much easier.  Watch the video, it will make more sense of why this is six bucks well spent. Handmade in our Oregon shop, USA
