Almost Uncirculated Emperor Trajan Roman Empire silver denarius coin. 3.53g, RIC 121, RSC 81c, minted 103 to 111 CE.  NGC certified AU, lustrous fields. Superbly detailed Imperial portrait and presentation of Felicitas.  Obverse: IMP TRAIANO AVG GER DAC PM TR P, laureate head right with Aegis on left shoulder.  Reverse: COS V P P SPQR OPTIMO PRINC. Felicitas standing left holding caduceus and cornucopia. Felicitas was the personification of good luck and success. Felicitas could encompass both a woman's fertility, and a general's luck or good fortune. She had a temple in Rome and her festivals were on July 1st and October 9th. She was frequently portrayed on coins as a symbol of the wealth and prosperity of the Roman Empire.
