
Andean Steps - handwoven wool tapestry
"I desire with all my heart that you appreciate our work, because my family and I weave each piece with much love." Evoking a set of steps that lead to the top of an Andean temple, this geometric tapestry is designed by Peruvian artisan Luis León. He works on a traditional San Pedro loom, hand-weaving brown and white wool yarns against a cotton warp using a technique known as llenado.
