ALUMILASTIC resists weather degradation from exposures to UV, moisture, and heat. It cures to a tough sealing compound with excellent adhesion properties. ALUMILASTIC forms a bright aluminum appearance with a flexible surface. This sealing compound provides its own protection and does not require painting or other surface treatment. It prevents water leakage, eliminates rust and corrosion and their resulting stains, provides air- and dust-tight joints and maintains a seal despite flexing, torsion and racking. It prevents squeaks and noise between metal parts, resists galvanic action between dissimilar metals, and compensates for parts that do not mesh or fit together exactly. ALUMILASTIC provides effective protection from -20°F to 180°F in moist or dry atmospheres with intermittent exposures to 250°F. It is formulated to meet Federal Specification TT-C-598B.
