Inscription by author on insidenflyleaf reads: "For Barabara Davidson. With Best Wishes, Alan G. Thomas, London 1981." Miss Davidson was a well known artist. Alan Gradon Thomas (1911 - 1992), was an English bibliophile. He wrote Fine Books (1967), that was later amplified and enlarged to become Great Books and Book Collectors (1975).
