Golden Crystal Turbinado Sugar

Warm and complex, our Golden Crystal Sugar comes from the Caribbean island of Barbados. Its tropical location provides the perfect amount of sunlight for growing sugarcane, and the coral-rich soils filter rainwater to produce exceptionally flavorful, coarse sugar crystals. Use as turbinado or raw sugar in beverages and baking, as a crunchy sanding sugar topping on cookies and other sweets or a rimming sugar for cocktail glasses. Barbados was the first Caribbean island to produce sugar, and this sugar represents the last remaining Caribbean coral-island sugar in production. This sugar serves as a memorial to the fraught history of sugar in Barbados and the people who created this uniquely delicious ingredient.
