This is a stunning species of Harpactirinae native to South Africa that possesses some of the most impressive coloration in the subfamily. During their juvenile life stage and even into early adulthood, they exhibit a vivid golden-orange coloration on their carapace, abdomen, and femurs, while the rest of the legs from the patella down are a beautiful metallic blue. Mature animals fade somewhat, losing the vibrant golden coloration in favor of a more muted tan color and greyish-blue legs.
