This adapter has a 10-50 plug and a 5-15 / 5-20 outlet. With this adapter you can connect a 240v compatible device that's equipped with a 120v 5-15 or 5-20 plug to a NEMA 10-50 outlet. 50amp 240v (3-prong) outlets are used for large commercial Electric Dryer's and Welders, they are also the old 50amp Electric Range outlet.
