About the painting: For my husband’s Christmas gift this last year I painted three scenes from his childhood home. This is an Oak tree in the backyard of his childhood home in Atascadero, California. Standing tall in the backyard of my husband’s childhood home, is a large oak tree—“The Memory Tree.” The weathered planks tell a story of a time when imaginations ran wild. Beneath its canopy, laughter echoed and dreams took flight. Sprawling branches offered sanctuary and countless adventures. This tree stands as a reminder of two things: fondest recollections of days gone past, as well as the ache of childhood dreams left unrealized. In a way, I think a lot of us have a Memory Tree in our backyards. Something that embodies the bittersweet essence of cherished memories and the ache of paths left untaken. Cooper and I decided to make prints of these paintings available so that others might enjoy the magic of Central California in their homes.   Sizes:  -5x7-8x10 -11x14 -16x20-18x24 -24x3
