Neoregelia 'Hannibal Lecter' is a cross of punctatissma x carcharodon 'Tiger'. Introduced by Chester Skotak, this ubiquitous Hybrid is one of a series of Hybrids he named for the characters in the movie "Silence of the Lambs". It has olive leaves with maroon banding reminiscent of it's parent carcharodon Tiger. It is smaller than Tiger, averaging 16" - 20" across. It can tolerate full sun conditions if moved gradually into the sun. It's coloring varies greatly depending on the lighting conditions.
