Texas Flap Map (canvas wrap)

The original version of the Texas Flag Map was painted on a road map of Texas. Like my Colorado Flag I didn't want to paint the flag like the original image, but wanted it to have more energy and movement. I traced out the design in pencil over the map then painted all the colors at the same time using a wet on wet technique allowing the colors to mix and blend. I also sprayed the wet paints at the edges with a misting bottle and tilted the piece back and forth until I got the look I wanted.  I made sure it was level and let it dry overnight. Our raised "Molten Metals" process is used on  the "Lone Star".
