Singing Aspens in Gray/Winter Mountains originated from a stack of 1940's sheet music purchased at an estate sale. Michele had planned on using them as the background for some mixed media pieces. She had them sitting next to some aluminum tape strips that she has used extensively in a popular series of aspen tree paintings. The more she looked at them she realized the sheet music cut into tapered shapes would create wonderful, interesting looking aspen tree trunks. The color palette for this piece is rendered in cool grays reminiscent of a cold winter's night high in the rocky mountains. Silver colored raised metal is applied as the embellishment on the mountain peaks just like the original. *Brian Singing Aspens in Gray/Winter Mountains is a one of a kind hand embellished reproduction using our raised “Molten Metals” process. The metal is antiqued and a coat of varnish is applied. This added dimension makes it look like the original but at a fraction of the cost. Printed on a rea
