This toy soldier, depicts the Confederate Army of Northern Virginia Flag at Rest. During the time of black powder weapons, the smoke on the battlefield often made it difficult to distinguish between friend and foe. In some cases, the Confederate flag, known as the Stars and Bars, was so similar to the United States flag that troops mistakenly fired on their own allies. To rectify this issue, a new battle flag was designed in late 1861. The Richmond Depot began issuing this version of the flag in July 1862, and it became the most widely used flag by the Army of Northern Virginia. This particular version of the flag measures 48 inches in length. Model: 31390 1/30 ScaleMatte FinishSingle Figure
