Smudging Pottery Shell Dish

Spread cleansing smoke without the fire hazard.  I designed this decorative shell bowl to hold your burning sage smudging stick as you walk around the house so it will catch the embers that fall.  Inspired by the traditional abalone shells used for this purpose, but made so as not to tip over when you set it down with that heavy smudge stick in it. I hand built this stoneware ceramic trinket dish (instead of throwing it on a potter's wheel) which creates it's natural texture.  I make my pottery this way because this is how I make my ceramic sculptures and because I wanted to make bowls that felt like they had grown into being bowls instead of having been made into bowls. Food, Microwave and Dishwasher Safe (although pretty small for eating out of, hahaha!) Measures approximately 3" in diameter and 1.5" high. Since this is hand built pottery, every shell is unique.
