2023 Katherine Goldschmidt Stonemason Hill Cabernet Sauvignon [JS91][WE90]
Producer: Goldschmidt Vineyards Region: Alexander Valley, Sonoma County, California Varietal: Cabernet Sauvignon Year: 2023 James Suckling, 91 Points "Very ripe, warm and intense, with notes of plums, sweet berries, ground cloves, cedar and tar. Full-bodied with generous purple fruit character and creamy tannins. Plush and opulent." Wine Enthusiast, 90 Points "The nose of this wine is dominated by dried cranberry, apricot and plum aromas, with sweet vanilla and caramel in the mix. The palate is saturated and decadent, with a massive framework of oak on display. Five or six years in the cellar should help this wine come into focus." Winemaker Notes: "The 2022 vintage being warmer than 2021, shows more black fruits as its base. Black cherry, boysenberry and black fig aromas jump out of the glass. It is vibrant with nice perfume. The mouth is very smooth, rich silky tannins go on forever. Good tension in the mouth begs to have a second glass. The complexity is beyond its years. A
