A small Celtic cross has been accented with the trinity knot (triquetra) at the base of the pendant. The term Triquetra comes from Latin, and it means "three-cornered." In Ireland, it is sometimes used to signify affection, with each corner representing the three promises of a relationship such as to love, honour, and protect. For Christians, the Triquetra represents the Trinity: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit--three persons as one God. Its three equal arcs represent equality, its continuous line expresses eternity, and the interweaving represents indivisibility and unity. The pendant is about 3/4" long (1.9 cm). Both the pendant and included curb chain are sterling silver.
