
Punset Barbera d'Alba
Punset’s Barbera d’Alba evokes both the character of Neive and the precise, thoughtful hand of winemaker Marina Marcarino, one of the earliest advocates of organic and biodynamic viticulture in Barbaresco. Grown on calcareous clay soils at moderate altitudes, the Barbera grape benefits from excellent drainage, healthy diurnal shifts, and an overall microclimate that allows for slow, even ripening. In the cellar, fermentation is carried out with native yeasts in temperature-controlled tanks, and aging takes place in a combination of stainless steel and large neutral oak, designed to preserve the natural energy and expressive fruit profile while softening its edges. On the nose, it is open and layered, with black cherry, ripe raspberry, and blueberry compote giving way to notes of lavender, dried herbs, and leather.
