Bunnahabhain Toiteach a Dhà Single Malt Scotch Whisky 750ml
Bunnahabhain Toiteach a Dha 750ml Nose: Roasted peanuts, cinnamon and red chilli flakes, blackcurrant and Port. Palate: Sea salt and kippers, dark chocolate, sultanas, a touch of cantaloupe. Finish: Barley, dry smoke and pepper. How do you pronounce DHA Toiteach? It's name, Toiteach A Dha (pronounced 'Toch-ach ah-gha'), translates to 'Smoky Two' in Scots Gaelic and combines a higher proportion of sherry casks than the original. Is Bunnahabhain a good scotch? Bunnahabhain has a reputation as the mildest and most mellow of Islay malts. This has always seemed a little misleading to me however, for even though the spirit is largely unpeated, it remains a malt of great character and robust flavour, forged through a unique marriage of sherry and salty sea air. Kirstie McCallum selected a combination of ex Bourbon and Sherry casks which were then matured in full, in our coastal warehouses on Bunnahabhain Bay. This is a terrific whisky.
