4x10 Persian Village Malayer Rug #3465

Feast your eyes on this gorgeous antique Persian rug with its rustic and warm color ways and the gorgeous shocks of yellow. This old beauty woven circa 1900 has a wonderful weave, from the village weavers of Malayer in Persia. The small scale design sprawled throughout the field on a midnight blue ground features floral and lattice art and this piece offers up great balance and composition, making it easy to style. There are quite a few border bands, including an edge guard in an antique ivory is superb with the fence of security motif while the inner edge guard has a lovely and continuous stream of flower heads. At a wonderful 4x10 size, this is what they call "gallery size" and it's shaped up to work with spaces that demand a size that's harder to find. Handwoven with vegetable dyed wool, this rug is low pile, sturdy, durable and in excellent condition for its age. Please see pics for full character and condition.
