UV-C is used to sterilize surfaces and the air. It is also used for pool water sterilization and it works by the intense UV light damaging the cells and RNA/DNA of bacteria and viruses. This lamp is a bright 36 Watts and has a remote control that works behind doors so you can turn it on without looking at the light. UV-C is damaging to the eyes but does not pass thru dead skin so is not a burning light like UV-A or B. Do not look at the light and make sure children and pets are not able to enter a room or see the light in operation.
