A very good antique Italian baroque walnut cabinet, Tuscany, circa 1680. The cabinet had been part of the M.H. de Young Memorial Museum San Francisco (now The de Young Museum), and was the property of Ms. Lee Eleanor Graham a San Francisco socialite & decorator in the 1920s. Lee Eleanor Graham was the wife of the oil magnate William Miller Graham who in 1902 had commissioned the building of "Bellosguardo" (Beautiful Lookout) an Italianate mansion in Santa Barbara California, now known as the Bellosguardo Foundation. This cabinet had been part of the furnishings of this very grand mansion in 1902. The cabinet of large size at 80" long & 49.25 tall, the top of the cabinet is fitted with four drawers each with a raised panels and the original circular polished bronze pulls. The base having four fielded panel doors, the two outside doors of a canted position and correspond to the drawers above, the sides and middle of the cabinet are decorated with raised panels.
