Amsonia 'Butterscotch'

Amsonia 'Butterscotch' (Blue star) Commonly called blue star, this native perennial is long-lived and provides almost year round interest. Abundant clusters of small, starry, powdery blue flowers bloom  from mid-spring to mid-summer with dramatic deep gold to butterscotch colored foliage in fall. A must have in any perennial border, especially pretty when mass planted. Easy to grow and relatively low maintenance, the plant benefits from being cut back after flowering and shaped into a denser mound. The plant is attractive to butterflies but repellent to deer. Arrives to you in a gallon-sized pot, as shown in photo 5.
