Single crochet (in US terms)/double crochet (in UK terms) is a wonderful stitch that is easy to learn, simple to work and beautiful to behold. But best of all among its terrific attributes is the fact that it can serve as a perfect grid for embroidery! And that grid is simply divine as a belt. This tutorial includes instructions for a crocheted belt. It also introduces what I call “Anchor Stitches”. Anchor Stitches are embroidered into the crocheted belt and serve, as the name implies, as anchors for additional embroidery.
