The Zenith Radio Model 705, manufactured in 1933, is a high-quality six-tube, AC powered radio. This model was part of Zenith's impressive 125 radio series, including the 200, 400, 500, and 600 models, released during the Great Depression. In 1934, Zenith also released the 700 series, known as the "Challenger" series. Today, this radio has been professionally restored with modern capacitors, tubes, resistors, and a new power cord, audio cable, and antenna lead. The original burl walnut and mahogany cabinet has been expertly refinished with a satinĀ  lacquer. This rare "mantle" radio, complete with original knobs, dial scale, speaker, and chassis, is a unique addition to any collection. Dimensions 15-1/2"W x 8-1/2"H x 7"D. The Zenith Radio Model 705 was released in the summer of 1933 as part of the 700 series, which debuted for the 1934 season.
