I'm the only artist in the world who is offering these! These wonderful coasters are handmade from one piece of ancient Silver Oak Cabernet Grapevine, cut sequentially to make a set. What better way to honor your wine than perching it on a piece of its own glorious history? These vines were planted between 1907-1911 and were making wine during prohibition. The family that was growing these had several hot rod cars used to elude the police and sold their "grape Juice" from San Diego to San Francisco. After prohibition, they started selling their excess grapes to other wine families who were just starting out, rescuing the wine industry and helping make it what it is today. The grape vines are dried for up to 8 years to insure they are dry then kiln fired, hand cut, sanded and sealed with 3 coats
