Collector Set of Powderglass Bead Samples from a Bead Identificaiton Workshop

Here we have examples of different level of technical skill and innovations in powederglass. Starting with single color beads, layers beads with striped horizontal bands, beads with vertical stripes and then spiraling vertical stripes made by twisting the bead in the mold when it the glass has begun to soften.  There are imitations of various Venetian trade beads as well as a set of coral imitations likely made in Nigeria where both powderglass and hot glass working existed for a time.
