The upholstered version of the Banana Bentwood Stool, also known as the Melnikov Cafe Stool, has become one of the most ubiquitous designs of bentwood furniture seen around the world. Its sturdy construction, comfortable curved back, and wide range of colors make it popular in homes, restaurants, and cafes worldwide. The Banana Stool is constructed in one of the original factories set up by Michael Thonet in the 1800s. The bentwood chair factory has been in continuous operation since its inception in 1861. It is now just one of a handful of original bentwood chair factories left. Made in the Czech Republic by Ton.
