Our Norman Longsword is a tribute to the exquisite European swords of the medieval and Renaissance periods, specifically dating from the 10th-13th centuries. Recognized by its cruciform hilt and straight, double-edged blade, this sword is a perfect blend of history and artistry. Designed for two-handed use, this majestic sword draws its lineage from the Viking Spatha, evolving into the knightly sword and later identified as the 'bastard sword' during the late medieval and Renaissance periods. By definition, a longsword must measure between 33"-43"; our Bastard Sword impressively stretches to 36" with a 30" blade and a 6" handle. The handle, meticulously crafted from wood and encased in leather, is complemented by Damascus steel bolsters. Each sword is also accompanied by a handmade leather sheath for safekeeping.
