Fender 1965 Precision Bass w/ Case - Sunburst (Joe Satriani Private Collection) (Pre-Owned) The Fender Precision Bass is the world's first electric bass. This is a classic 1965 P-Bass; solid body, four-strings, single split-coil humbucking pickup, and a one-piece, 20-fret maple neck with rosewood fingerboard. Joe Satriani bought this bass in 1989 from GC in San Francisco who had it as a 1964, so the case and tag are labeled as such, but the serial number puts it firmly in 1965. The original Sunburst finish is love worn with age around the edges making this a natural relic. The back was paint striped off before Joe bought it that way. It has since been serviced and maintained by renown guitar tech Gary Brawer.
