Hand stitched all silk Suzani on a Green silk ground. This Aquatic themed Suzani from Uzbekistan contains 5 large medallions filled with fish in the "Circle of Life" or "Fish Pond" motif representative of female fertility, and 7 smaller medallions filled with birds symbolizing protection, and male virility. This exuberant suzani depicts fish, birds, Botem "teardrops", pinwheels, and scrolling floral motifs throughout with a delineated border of birds and fish. The silk threads are shades of blue, rust, salmon, pink, brown, yellow.  Flicker stitches, add depth, and movement to this exquisite suzani.   63 x 82  (5 x 7')
