Ani L'Dodi V'Dodi Li - I Am For My Beloved As My Beloved is For Me

“Ani Ledodi Vedodi Li” - “ I am for my beloved and my beloved is for me,” is a popular Jewish proverb from Shir Hashirim, Song of Songs, written by King Solomon.  King Solomon wrote this poem with the imagery of a couple’s love as a metaphor for the relationship between G-d’s and the Jewish people.   Although we are commanded to have deep love for G-d, and that his love for us is infinite, we still need to work on our relationship with the divine.  In turn, reflecting on the deep love a couple has for each other inspires us to always continue working on our relationships. The original was painted by me in watercolor and acrylic paint for my wedding in 2012.  Thank G-d, we never stop working on making our relationship better and growing more in love every day.
