1911 Pre WWI Antique American Requa Gibson New York NYC 7' Wooden Aircraft Propeller

Manufacturer: Requa Gibson Co.Model Number: 79 Date Sold:  March 19th, 2023 Sold on Ebay for: $3,995.00   Rare Antique Requa Gibson 7' Wooden Aircraft Propeller produced between 1909-1911. The only known examples, 3 in total, are located in Museums. This is a very rare early propeller (pre-WW1) manufactured by Requa Gibson, the first American propeller manufacturer. The original tips were covered with pigskin rather than the canvas fabric or metal sheathing which was used in later propellers. This particular propeller appears to be covered with a some type of woven material. The engine type and aircraft model are unknown, though the center has four drilled holes. The brass plate reads 'REQUA GIBSON CO. 225 WEST 49TH STREET/ NEW YORK CITY./ PROPELLER NO. 79 0/TYPE REG L./ DIA. 7/ PITCH 5/ ROTATION R/ HAND' Measures just over 7' long x 8 1/2" wide at tips x 5 1/2" diameter at center and is in overall Excellent antique condition, minor nicks to the tips, beautiful coloring, please see
