Zhou may be the first driver from Chine to race in F1, but he's not the first driver from China to make it into an F1 car. Ma Qinghua had a contract with HRT to drive for them in 2013, but the team went bust at the end of 2012. In 2012, he did participate in a FIA-sanctioned event, thereby becoming the first Chinese person to drive an F1 car.
