Species: Corn Snake Scientific Name: Pantherophis guttatus Origin: Corn snakes are found in woodland and forest regions of the southeastern and central United States, as far west as Kentucky and Louisiana, and as far south as Mexico. Lifespan: Corn snakes reach adulthood around 3 to 4 years old, and with good care, they can live long lives—15 to 25 years. Some have even lived as long as 30 years. Size: When newly hatched, corn snakes measure between 8 to 12 inches, while adults can reach 3 to 6 feet in length.
