Plate 384 American Swan, Audubon Octavo 1840 First Edition

We never use stock imagery for our products.  All images at Audubon Collector are actuals of the print under consideration. This print has never been cleaned or restored.  Being over 170 years old it demonstrates characteristics commonly associated with its age and usage, such as finger smudges (spoiling) usually along the margins and the natural discoloring of the paper (toning).  There are a few blemishes or spots (foxing - age spots).  This print exhibits some light text offsetting.  Please refer to the photos. The edge that was attached to the book is untrimmed and has retained some of the glue from the original binding. Also, there are penciled notes left by a previous owner on the verso (back) of the print - see photo.  Overall, the paper is generally free of noticeable marks or spots and the colors are vibrant and fresh.  I believe that this print is in very fine condition.
