JIS-Spec cross-point screws are generally marked with a single Dimple. JIS Screw Drivers always fit Phillip fasteners, but Phillips drivers may not fit JIS fasteners due to the slight design difference. Anyone that has experience loosening or tightening the Mikuni soft screw of “C5=0414-K”, knows about this issue. If you use the standard #2 Phillips screwdriver on this screw, you can easily strip the screw. A JIS and a Phillips® screw may look the same to the human eye, but they have completely different profiles and it is important to know the difference.
