Water the Miracle of Life Series Three - Water and Polution (EBook)
Water is a tiny molecule, an inorganic chemical compound abundantly found on Earth. Water consists of three atoms: two of hydrogen , and one of Oxygen. Water molecules cling to each other, because of a force called Hydrogen Bonding. That is why water is referred to as H2O. Water exists in gaseous, liquid, and solid states. It is one of the most plentiful and essential of compounds. Pure water is a tasteless, odourless and nearly colorless liquid, with a hint of blue, at room temperature. Water is a universal solvent, it has the ability to dissolve many substances. Water is very important in the breakdown of substances, and creation of new ones. Water has memory, can receive information from its environment and make imprint about it. Water is sensitive to what it receives. Water pollution occurs when harmful substances, often chemicals, microorganisms, plastics and debris, contaminate a stream, river, lake, ocean, aquifers or other body of water, degrading the water quality, and r
