Nucleus Hive

We are excited to offer a limited number of 2025 5-frame nucleus colonies (nucs), available from mid-May through August. Final pickup dates will be confirmed by early April. Each 5-frame nucleus will include a laying, marked queen and at least 3 frames of bees. Here’s what to expect: 2 frames of brood (developing bees) 1 frame with pollen, honey, or sugar syrup (food stores) 1 frame with honey or sugar syrup 1 frame with foundation or empty comb Please note: We use medium frames, which can be used in medium or deep boxes. If you use them in deep boxes, the bees will draw comb below the frame. Contact us if you have questions about using medium frames in deep boxes. Nucleus Hives are not eligible for promotional discounts. Ordering Instructions Our stock of Nucleus Hives varies throughout the season. Please email us at hello@astorapiaries.com before you make your purchase to make sure we have hives available. Your hive will not be reserved until we have received your full payment.
