Venice Canvas

Venice has a lot of these little piazzas tucked behind the countless allies and roads/waterways.  Venice like Rome and Florence is a place where it is impossible to get lost, but also impossible not to get lost.  You sort of have feel as if you are going in the right direction, have faith that you will eventually get to your destination, walk around and deal with the ups and downs and twists and turns and obstacles that get in your way, and then you just turn a corner and Boom, you have arrived at the Train Station, or St. Marks Square, or the Colleseum or something magical.    Maybe that's what the Italians mean by "Dolce Vita" or its the fact that there's a gelato and espresso on every corner so even if you are lost you can pop in for a quick ice cream and feel better.  Who is having a bad time while eating gelato? the answer is nobody, only insane people are upset while eating gelato.     Photographer: Dylan Carpowich
