Eastern Empire Circa 4th to 5th Century A.D. Carved in a provincial style with almond shaped eyes and centrally parted wavy hair wrapped in a bun at back. Overall surface with encrustations and nice polish. Size: 7 inches (17.5 cm) Height + custom mount. Provenance: Reputedly from Denny Pinkus, Tel Aviv, Israel. Private Estate, Connecticut, acquired in the mid-1980s.
