She knits characters together in compelling and interesting ways. I’ve read books where it was difficult to keep multiple character stories straight as the series expanded. This is not the case here. I felt so familiar with these people. I wondered about their feelings, their motivations, their lives long before the SHTF. I so often could see myself in certain storylines OR, more often, wondered how I’d fare in their circumstances.
