This painting was made as a study for a larger easel painting that measured 31.5" x 31.5". It was painted from my studio that overlooks Bathampton meadows that contains this particular tree. For a few brief weeks the tree becomes lit with a furious display of brilliant colours that are soon to fade into winter. The second photo shows a detail of this painting.
