In modernist style, the artist renders an abstract composition with both curved and straight lines, few elements have more figurative attributes; a pair of feet and hands that seem to play hide and seek between the elements of this composition. This piece is in excellent condition and comes with a certificate of authenticity from the Fundación de Arte Cubano (Foundation of Cuban Art) Amelia Peláez del Casal was an important Cuban painter of the Avant-garde generation,  born in 1896 in Yaguajay, Cuba. Peláez received a prize in the National Exposition of Painters and Sculptors in 1938, and collaborated on several art magazines in Cuba. In 1950 she opened a workshop at San Antonio de los Baños, a small city near Havana, where she dedicated herself, until 1962, to her favourite pastime of pottery. She sent her pain
