
OSHA 10 Hour Training For General Industry: Ergonomics
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration, OSHA, has specified a curriculum for its “10-Hour Training for General Industry” that is designed to provide an overview of the hazards a worker may encounter in the workplace and how those hazards may be recognized and controlled. The topic of this program is ergonomics, which is one of OSHA’s approved electives that may be included as part of the 10-hour training curriculum. Topics include: What the term “ergonomics” means and the proper techniques to use while working Different types of musculoskeletal disorders and how they happen What’s included in an ergonomic process What controls can be put into place to help work ergonomically including work practice controls The proper set-up for workstations and how to properly lift and carry loads ergonomically
